The government has accorded Amanora Township in Hadapsar the status of an integrated township project.
The government changed its status from a special township project through a notification issued on September 13. Amanora Township has been developed by City Corporation Limited.
The notification stated that the chief operating officer of City Corporation Limited had submitted a proposal for the new status and the government granted it.
Earlier, parts of the project area were included in the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA).
“The chief operating officer of the City Corporation Limited had requested the government to convert the special township project status to the category of the integrated township project. The authorities have granted the request. All further sanctions related to the project will be with the PMRDA, instead of the PMC,” said an urban development department official privy to the notification.
City Corporation Limited CEO Aniruddha Deshpande said they had sought for the change in the status because there was no integrated township policy with the PMC. He confirmed that the project would henceforth get all the sanctions related to the integrated township from the PMRDA.
